Stephanie's passion for supporting children's development extends beyond the therapy room. She believes that children can truly thrive when all of their essential needs are met. Her mission is for children to get all their developmental needs met in their early learning environment, an environment that provides the right amount of nurturing, cultivates their strengths, has patience with their challenges, and inspires them to explore their world. Stephanie formed Sequential Development Consulting with the vision to build a team of child development specialists and partner with early childhood education centers.
My Story
Stephanie Kaufman is a Marriage and Family Therapist with a specialization in early childhood mental health. Her experience working with young children has given her a deep understanding of their unique developmental needs and the challenges they face as they navigate their early years. Stephanie has worked within the systems of her clients, including their families, preschools, teachers, support staff, speech and language pathologists, and occupational therapists, which has given her a holistic approach to treatment.

Stephanie discovered the power of the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) in 2015 and became certified. NMT has changed the way Stephanie works with children and the way she understands the challenges, concerns, and diagnoses that her clients present with in therapy. She also holds a certification in Child-Parent Psychotherapy. Stephanie has a bachelors in arts in psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara also completed her master's degree in counseling psychology at California State University, East Bay. She continues to pursue ongoing education and training in early childhood development and mental health.
