Classroom Environment Co-design and Consultation

Our pediatric occupational therapist will visit your site to collaborate with you in designing, redesigning, or rearranging your classroom environment to support the developmental needs of the children who use it. The classroom itself is often considered 'the third teacher,' which is why creating an inclusive, developmentally appropriate space is so essential for growth and learning. We focus on the overall layout, access to sensory experiences and activities, organizing quiet areas for self-regulation, and integrating flexible seating options like cushions or wobble stools to help with attention and body awareness. We also h elp you consider having stations that cover all the areas of development. Additionally, we work with you to create accessible pathways for easy movement, establish clear visual cues for routines, and provide spaces that encourage a balance of independent play and collaborative learning. Our goal is to create an environment that supports emotional, physical, and cognitive development for every child.
