Shivani believes that meaningful communication is the foundation of connection, learning, and confidence in early childhood. As the founder of The Speech Path, she has built a practice grounded in compassionate, evidence-based care. Shivani is passionate about helping children find their voice—whether that means supporting first words, building social connection, or navigating complex communication challenges. She brings deep expertise in autism, childhood apraxia of speech, and social communication differences, and works closely with families to create functional, individualized goals. Shivani joined Sequential Development Consulting because she values interdisciplinary collaboration and believes that the best outcomes for children happen when therapists, educators, and families work as a team.
My Story
Dr. Shivani Patel is a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of The Speech Path, a San Francisco-based private practice dedicated to supporting communication development in young children. Shivani earned her doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northwestern University, where her clinical and research work focused on communication differences in autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions such as fragile X syndrome. She also specializes in the assessment and treatment of childhood apraxia of speech and is trained in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC).

Shivani holds advanced certifications in Hanen’s It Takes Two to Talk®, Palin Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and the PEERS® program. She brings a relationship-centered lens to her work, supporting families in developing practical strategies to help their child communicate confidently in everyday life. Shivani is committed to continued learning, professional speaking, and providing inclusive, strengths-based support to the families she serves.
